This is a well-organized, efficient, and power-packed booked. As an educator for over three decades and a reading specialist, I feel confident in pointing out that the monologues in this book are easy to read and easy to understand. When appropriate, Hollis McLachlan has even identified vocabulary in each monologue that might need added attention or study. Most importantly, do not overlook one of the book's main features it contains A LOT of monologues, each identified for appropriate use by "Male," "Female" or "Anyone." Perfect for teachers of the theater arts, parents, counselors, troop leaders or club leaders interested in increasing the self-confidence, self-esteem and/or public speaking skills of their young people through the performing arts. This well-priced book would be a great addition for the elementary classroom and a handy resource for any elementary school talent show production staff. Parents, anyone involved with the planning of kids' parties, competitions, and ultimately, auditions would no doubt find value in this book as well.
