Tristan King - a man so far out of my league that I should have thought twice.

He felt like the kind of man who didn't just break the rules, but made new ones. He led and it was follow or get
out of the way.

Why did a billionaire with a voice like liquid silk and a face like a bad angel take a second look at a girl in no-name jeans, with a fifteen-dollar haircut and a beat up car she calls her "Eep" because the 'J' fell off long ago?

I let him claim my desire before I had the chance to consider what that might have meant for me. For my life.

By the time I knew his secrets it was already too late.

He wove us together, giving me the life I'd always hoped for, making himself a hero in the bargain. It didn't
hurt that he pulled the people I love the most out of harm's way. A girl can get used to a knight in shining
armor even when the armor has some very large dents in it.

No matter what the future held, Tristan had changed me. I could only hope we'd survive.

*****

This is part one of a series. Part 2 of the Year of the Billionaire is "Taking His Risk" and is available now on . Part 3 of Year of the Billionaire is "Keeping His Promise" and is also available on .

This book is steamy, sexy and five chilies hot.

This is a very by the numbers billionaire romance, but that doesn't mean it's bad. Tropes aren't bad so long as they are woven together interestingly.

I did like this story. Raina was a good pov character and we did get a bechdel test pass...rare in romance and novellas. Tristan was a very typical controlling rich man with a tragic past (tm).

I really liked the use of summer theater as a way to move things along. That was unique since it wasn't expected.

What I didn't like was the lack of the hero asking permission to kiss/have sex.

Technically, the novella could have used a good proofreader with an eye to commas and dependent clauses. It's enough that I noticed it.

The story ends on a happy for now ending, which is totally acceptable. There's enough here to satisfy readers who only want to read the one, but still encourages readers to buy the next novella.

A solid four stars.

I liked this book, it was a quick read about the typical millionaire and middle class girl that is swept off her feet and is hoping for more then he is willing to give...at first. I like Raina, she is just like any girl off the street, she is kind, smart, and pretty but needs some excitement in her life. Then there is Tristan, handsome, rich, smart, and oh so sexy and he wants a relationship with her that holds no expectations. I will say what I did not like was how he treated her at first, how strange to have sex with her for the first time at a friends house in the loft while there is a party going on downstairs, not very classy. I do like how he jumped in to help her parents, the whole union thing with her parents was unexpected, I guess we will see what comes out of that. I will say I worried that he was going to get with one of those fake rich girls that kept hanging around, I was glad that the author did not go the expected way. I am curious to find out what happened to his first love. Tristan got better and better as the book went on, less of a entitled jerk and actually seemed to be getting closer to Raina and treated her much better. I am looking forward to the next book to see if some of these mysteries are uncovered. This book was worth the time reading, liked it more as it progressed.
Sexy, mysterious, and just a touch of humor. Tristan is a take charge man who sees what he wants and doesn't take no for an answer as long as it's his way. Raina is crazy about Tristan and puts her trust in him. A great romantic story.
A great start to the three book series. I have to say though, that I'm not fond of this new way of writing books - dividing up the story into several novels and novellas that can't stand alone as a story - I would much prefer the erotic/romance novels as one long page-turner. I haven't read the next two books in this series, but I will buy & read.

This is a romance novel with erotic bits tossed in. A young college-age lady interns for the summer at a small city theatre. He's a rich playboy, featured on page 6 & the tabloids but has a liking for theatre. His choice is the small city theatre where he meets the intern and romance blossoms after sex. He's intriguing but reserved. She's sweet, smart and humble. I'm looking forward to see how their mysterious relationship blossoms.
Finding this book is the reason I read so many other authors in my genre. When something works so well for me, I know there is something in it to emulate to improve my own writing.

Here's what works for me in this one the author has built an environment with believable detail--the behind-the-scenes preparation for a community theater play. That environment helped shape the characters into people I could relate to, especially the main character, which is the point of a first-person style. Raina is open to her sensuality without being a ninny or a slut. Her very real concerns don't stop her from enjoying the developing relationship, but they keep her somewhat grounded and she never forgets that she still doesn't know this man in the way she wants to.

As much as I like it, the one thing that keeps it from five stars, for me and me only, is that I'm a bit bored by the billionaire craze. I would have enjoyed this more if Tristan had just been believably well-off. Other than that, I have to say, well-crafted, well-written, smokin' hot sex scenes (loved the phone sex!) and none of the jarring editing errors that mar so many indie authors' work.

For the first time since FSOG, which was my introduction to the modern erotica genre, I want to read the rest of the series. Outstanding job, Ms. Falls.
It felt like this was a whole lotta nuthin'. It was slow starting the passion was semi hot. As in i wanted to get into it but it kept lacking... I have such a hard time with stories about whining (which renia did A LOT), people trying to change others (um that's ONLY what Tristian wanted), and bad cliffhangers which this did. It didn't just leave us hanging...it just left us, well kinda dead in the water hanging. A just kinda; eh I'll cont this later...kinda ending. Great.
After finishing I sat back and realized "Ah yes, this is why I don't read romance novels." Not my cup of tea. True, I read the whole thing and you may be tempted to ask why. Well, I just do. I feel like I owe it to the author, no matter what, to read it to the end. They put a lot of time and energy into it and maybe the last 20 pages will change my mind. In this case, no. Too formulaic for my taste, too Fifty-Shades-Lite, and too predictable. Go for it if this is your thing.
This is a cliffhanger piece, not a complete story. Beware. The main male character is pretty asinine while the female lead is naive and is seemingly getting set up up for some kind of fall but I’ll never know as the story ended in a cliffhanger.
